Obiettivi Formativi
Il corso è finalizzato all’apprendimento della storia della letteratura inglese da Jane Austen (1775-1817) fino alla fine del XX secolo. L’obiettivo è trasmettere allo studente un’approfondita consapevolezza dell’evolversi dei generi e dei motivi letterari e delle istanze sociali, politiche e culturali connesse, oltreché di acquisire padronanza delle caratteristiche stilistiche e dei diversi registri linguistici di un testo letterario
Prerequisiti
Buona conoscenza generale del contesto storico-culturale e letterario della Gran Bretagna. Raggiungimento degli obiettivi formativi previsti dal corso di Letteratura inglese I e di Lingua inglese II

Contenuti
Il corso verte sulla storia della letteratura inglese dal XIX secolo al Postmodernismo, soffermandosi sulle istanze socio-culturali particolarmente rilevanti del periodo in oggetto e sui testi letterari più rappresentativi e sarà integrato da forme di attività complementari sotto forma di lettorato, tenuto dal prof. Anthony Lawrence Harris.
